An Eirhost standard hosting plan includes daily backups of the entire hosting account and access to standard hosting technical support 24 hours a day. It does not include WordPress or plugin updates, or assistance maintaining the WordPress website.
A care plan adds hands-on maintenance for the WordPress installation. Depending on the plan, this includes WordPress and plugin updates, separate cloud backups of the WordPress site, security measures, restoration of a working backup, and malware removal.
If your website is hosted elsewhere, you can still choose an Eirhost care plan.

Why have a separate WordPress backup?
A hosting account backup and a WordPress care backup serve different purposes. Eirhost’s
standard hosting backups cover the account as a whole. The cloud backups in our care plans
provide a separate copy of the WordPress installation that we can use when maintaining or
restoring the website.
That matters when a plugin update causes an error, website data is corrupted, or an earlier working version needs to be restored.
Care for WordPress websites hosted elsewhere
You do not have to move your hosting to Eirhost to use a care plan. Tell us who hosts the website and which plan you are interested in. We can review the site and arrange the access needed to carry out the work.
If you would also like to move your hosting, we can discuss that separately.
Frequently asked questions
Does Eirhost hosting include WordPress maintenance?
No. Standard hosting includes hosting account backups and 24-hour standard hosting technical
support. WordPress updates, plugin updates and maintenance of the website require a care
plan.
Will you back up my whole hosting account?
The cloud backups included in a care plan cover the WordPress installation. If you host with Eirhost, your standard hosting plan also includes daily backups of the entire hosting account.
What happens if an update breaks my site?
Our care plans include rollback if a plugin update causes a problem. The plans also provide for
reinstallation of the last good backup in the circumstances listed for each package.
Is malware removal included?
It is included with Maintain & Secure and Web Manage Plus. The Basic plan includes reinstallation of the last good backup following a hack.
Can I use a care plan if I host somewhere else?
Yes. Eirhost care plans are available for WordPress sites hosted with other providers.
Can you update my website content?
Web Manage includes up to 90 minutes per month for adding content or SEO work. Web Manage Plus includes up to three hours per month.
